Brief Description:
The Mandela Institute for development studies (MINDS) scholarship program is committed to enhancing greater cooperation between African Countries in achieving the continent’s future success. The purpose of the scholarship program is to allow African students to study in a nation other than their own and thereby immerse themselves in the richness and diversity that the country and its people have to offer. Young African scholars are urged to take advantage of the scholarship opportunity to further their studies.

About the Host Institution:
The Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) is an Africa-wide think tank that provides an inclusive platform for dialogue, information dissemination, and networking. Their programs are aimed at allowing young Africans to build their initiative for the greater good. This is done by rigorous research into all aspects of African Heritage, to shape policy and practice on critical issues of governance, integrated economic development, and the evolution of African institutions. Through these programs, MINDS seeks to address the short, medium, and long-term developmental challenges facing Africa in a holistic and comprehensive manner

Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate must be from an African Country and must be residing in any African Country.
- The candidate must have obtained at least 70% in each subject or course in the last two completed years of study
- You must have applied for full-time studies of a one or two-year honors or master
- You must have been formally accepted by one or more MINDS preferred institutions or institutions outside of their country of citizenship or residency within the following year
- You must be able to produce evidence of demonstrated leadership abilities or potential
- guided by questions and requirements set out in the application form.
Application Process:
- make sure you have your formal acceptance letter from any of the MINDS host universities, you can’t apply without it
- then upload the scanned copies of all the relevant documents
- make sure to upload the scanned documents in PDF format
- make sure that each attachment does not exceed 2MB in size.

Documents Required:
- A copy of the passport
- A certified academic transcript or the result slip of the last two years of study
- A copy of the official acceptance letter from the university in which the applicant must be addressed
- A copy of a valid study permit or visa or proof of application
- A detailed CV/ Resume of not more than four single-sided pages.
- Two reference letters of not more than 3 pages addressing your demonstration of integrity, leadership competence, and commitment to the development of the African continent.
